I’m Shannon. I love collecting experiences, learning new things, and sharing strategies that help me feel my best. This started as a website called shanabananawellness where I shared mainly food recipes, but I have since learned that our wellbeing is made up of so much more than just the food we eat and whether or not we exercise. It’s so much more. Wellness implies a destination, wellbeing is an ongoing practice.
I studied psychology at SUNY Plattsburgh and graduated in 2019. After graduation, I wasn't sure what next steps to take. I knew that the conventional psychology I'd learned was missing something for me. For so long, we've zeroed in on what goes wrong that leads people to unhappiness and suffering...with little to no focus on the good life. YES, it’s incredibly important to heal what’s wrong - but how do we cultivate what’s right? What leads a person to their dream life? Happiness? Feeling fulfilled, passionate, & ALIVE?
Asking these questions led me to an internship at The Flourishing Center in NYC where I now am so grateful to work. I completed the Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology there, and am now in the process of getting certified in Applied Positive Psychology Coaching. Truthfully, it has been the most amazing and transformative year of my life.
I believe that how we feel and what we choose to invest our time, energy and money toward strongly correlates with our day to day potential, happiness, and overall quality of life. I am so passionate about self growth and exploring how I can live my happiest, healthiest, most energetic and authentic life. And I am committed to helping others do the same!
